Design Indaba Review: Silverspoon

One of the most charming designers to emerge in South Africa in the last couple of years is Silverspoon. Hailing from Port Elizabeth, this design duo produce hipster cute pieces without any attitude. There is a romanticism about their latest collection that must reflect their personal loved-up status. And the kimono silhouette - in the blue polka dot particularly - was a triumph. Absolutely smashing.
On trend in the navy, biscuit, mustard and brown colour combinations, this collection was a safari travel memory, right at home in the urban hot spots. I am not sure that there is another label so on-trend in the country right now.
I adored the collection and wish them all the very best of luck. My only request is to introduce more natural fabrications into the collection. A bit of silk wouldn't go amiss in this range. Lovely.
